A few weeks ago I styled and co-art directed a set of phenomenal lifestyle photo shoots in a segment I like to call as “Stylin’ and Profilin’.” I have to say, I did not hate it. With the backdrop of the Magic City along side the uber talented photographer Mayra Roubach, we set out to capture the unique beauty and landscape of South Beach. Naturally you always want to feature the Art Deco offerings of Miami but we wanted to be a little bit different. We wanted to transform our models into another space and time altogether.
Day 1
For our first shoot we selected the garden setting in front of the newly renovated James Royal Palm Hotel, home to Florida Cookery, Catch and SL nightclub. Inspired by a vintage Asprey dress and a pair of peep toe Christian Louboutins fresh out of the rabbit hole, our beautiful model Jessica was transformed into Alice from Alice and Wonderland. The Mad Hatter reference came later when I styled Jessica in a sexy A.L.C maxi, a pair of stappy Reed Krakoff sandals a Reiss brim hat with an Alexander Wang ‘Rockie – Antique Brass’ Leather Crossbody Bag.
Day 2
For our second shoot we chose a gorgeous redhead, Elaine who provided the perfect retro look. The shoot was set at a diner and went on without a hitch. Elaine wore a supple lace back Theory sweater, a vintage strand of Chanel pearls, a Louis Vuitton leopard scarf and red capris. She looked certifiably stunning. Then we decided to have a little fun and moved on to our hub, the James Royal Palm Hotel. Elaine switched into a flirty metallic Maje skirt and hopped on a Bianchi Art Deco colored bike while she posted.
We all had such a blast both days. I hope the photos capture even a fraction of the fun.
Enjoy!
