My day started out like this; a text message from a friend and stylist Rachael Russell saying, “see you in a few,” captioning the photo below. That’s just one of the perks of having such a tight knit fashion community here in Miami. I was to be styled by a friend and I didn’t even know it. The much anticipated day just got an uptick.
I had already picked out my outfit from JCPenney’s fab Bisou Bisou collection and now came the fun part. What girl doesn’t love getting dressed up, made up and accessorized? Aside from Rachael pulling the look together, the InStyle hair team, along with the makeup artists from Sephora were on hand just waiting to make me look beautiful. From concept to a completed look, I was ready to head to the American Airlines Arena to put my outfit to work at the iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina.
Upon arrival the Glam Suite set up at the penthouse of the Delano Hotel, was filled with just the most fun clothes and accessories a girl could ask for. Michele Bohbot herself was on-hand lending her styling tips, filling the room with her gregarious and warm personality. Instead of going with my original outfit choices Michele, Rachael and I decided to have some fun, playing around with a number of combinations from the Bisou Bisou collection. You can do that when every pieces is so on-trend and versatile.
After the styling session, I had my hair and “makeup did.” I went with a side dutch braid, which if you didn’t know is an inverted braid that lends itself well to the just out-of-bed-look I was going for. Since my outfit was monochrome central, I went crazy with the makeup without looking back. Take a look…
They day couldn’t have been better. JCPenny was so hospitable and the event went off without a hitch. All the bloggers looked gorgeous and I have to say, I have a new found love for the Bisou Bisou collection. Lucky me I got to take home some of my favorite pieces. The iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina turned out to be amazing, with J.Lo’s opening number stealing the show.
