Met Gala 2014: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

It’s beyond me why year after year Anna Wintour would set a theme for the Met Gala only to have certain attendees don whatever their little hearts desired. Admittedly, the fun in attending this sartorial parade, or at least one would think, is to adhere to some rules while expressing your creativity within certain parameters. Well, similar to years prior there were certain celebrities that took the theme quite seriously and then others, shall we call them rebels, in trying to stand out pulled off looks that almost mocked Anna’s original intent. I am sorry, I know that this is easy for me to say; I am writing this from the comfort of my home, but this is a gala people, don’t force me to post the definition! That means an excuse to get glammed up – not another night of tuxedo pants and cocktail dresses. That is just wrong. Especially since the theme was Charles James, a name synonymous with old Hollywood royalty. Okay, I am finished with my rant. The end result for me was the following: some nailed it, others looked ‘blah’ at best, some looked like they showed up to the wrong party and others I simply wished wore something else. Oh but here are are my picks anyway.
